Dr. Shannon Miller Cox
Founder, Journey Of Hope, Inc. and Founder, Trauma Intelligence, Co.

Shannon began her career in 1994 as a Utah Department of Corrections officer, where she witnessed firsthand how trauma and addiction shaped the lives of justice-involved individuals. A survivor of sexual violence, she dedicated her career to creating trauma-informed, gender-responsive programs that empower recovery and reduce recidivism. She co-founded the Female Offender Success Initiative (FOSI) and received the Utah Governor’s Award for Excellence for her innovative work. After retiring in 2014, she founded Journey of Hope, Inc., which has since supported more than 5,000 women, youth, and LGBTQIA+ individuals transitioning from incarceration, homelessness, and violence into stability and healing.
