Their Irrational Fears vs the Future: Guess which Utah Republican Legislators Pick?

EBAY OFFICIAL: COMPANY WON’T MOVE JOBS TO UTAH IF IT DOESN’T PASS LGBT EMPLOYMENT PROTECTIONS, Colorado immediately moving in to grab 3000 jobs | 

An irrational fear of their gay neighbors won out over doing whats right as a bill to copy the SLC law that prohibits discrimination in housing and employment and have those protections apply Statewide, went down to defeat Friday. Led by Senator Ben McAdams the bill had huge support statewide amoung the people--but none with the Tea Party extremists who control the Republican Party.  

A Dan Jones Poll says 70% of the State supports such legislation, the LDS Church the Chamber of Commerce and a multitude of state-wide organizations and companies firmly stand behind the non-discrimination bill.  Yet Republicans tabled the bill in committee. Not even a floor debate.

Now, their prejudice and fear is in grave danger of costing Utahns 3000 non-polluting, good paying jobs!  

Sadly, Republicans voted with their fears rather then for their children's future. Sad. Sad. Sad.

EBAY OFFICIAL: COMPANY WON’T MOVE JOBS TO UTAH IF IT DOESN’T PASS LGBT EMPLOYMENT PROTECTIONS | eBay General Counsel Brandon Pace warned Utah lawmakers on Thursday that the company may reconsider relocating 3,000 workers to the state if it does not extend employment protections the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. At a discussion with business leaders about the proposed legislation, McAdams added that 70 percent of Utah residents support statewide housing and employment protections for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals.
